Song Thrush – forty years ago in my nature notebooks

Forty years ago I was a small child on a mission – to see wildlife and to feel the joy of observing it. I kept nature notebooks with all my observations. Here are my notes on seeing a Song Thrush.

Today I’m in Devon, in the woods, and I’m a man on a mission – to see wildlife and to feel the joy of observing it. Up in the trees is a Song Thrush. It’s so clear I can see the rictal bristles around its mouth. It’s a small thrush and I can see its warm brown upper parts. It’s beautiful.
