Roadmire

Running past I see that Roadmire is for sale. It looks amazing in this weather, especially overlooking the Bay of Tuquoy.

Roadmire includes a cottage and outbuildings, both of which require modernisation, together with a paddock. The property enjoys a beautiful view over the Ayre of Fribo and Bay of Tuquoy. The cottage extends internally to 11.15m x 4.9m approximately and the paddock is to grass. To view, contact Lows Property Department.

Why the name Roadmire? I think it could once have been quite boggy there until they built the new road.

According to Fae Quoy Tae Castle, the 160 page Magnum Opus of the Westray Buildings Preservation Trust, Roadmire has been unoccupied since 1975. It’s an amazing spot; especially since the Corncrakes make such a wonderful noise there.
