County Library

Einar used to be a school, the Skelwick Academy School, or at least the Hall used to be a school, while the house itself was the schoolmaster’s house. In one of the outbuildings (“Suitable for a wide variety of potential uses,” according to Lows, Orkney) which was full of storage I found this wonderful enamel sign.

Any ideas why it was there? Did the Orkney Library have a branch at the Skello school? Did the Library sell an old door with a sign still on it? Is it even from Orkney. If you know, please let me know!
