Wet bench

Wednesday night is fish and chips night at Jacks Chippy at Pierowall Fish. That’s a source of great excitement to me. I’ve already checked out the Pierowall Fish Facebook page this morning to see what has been landed from Shetland and considered which fish to have:

Fresh fish in today – Haddock, Cod, Monk, Squid, Lemon Sole, Scallops, Salmon. All on JACKS chippy menu tonight.

I’m tempted by the scallops. It’s been a lovely day, if a little blustery, but tonight it turns to light rain and there’s water on the picnic benches outside the Chippy. No matter. They have a towel and we’re dry and eating in no time. I have the Haddock.

A box of finds

Bones picked clean, floats, driftwood branches and strange objects all collected in a box; I love beachcombing.
