Eggs on the doorstep

I arrive back from a day out exploring and there are freshly laid eggs on the doorstep from my kind Island friend.  They are eggs from her chickens, she hasn’t laid them herself, you understand.

Luckily I’ve just bought some just picked asparagus which will go with them – lightly scrambled on my home-made wholemeal bread.
