Electrickery

Electrickery

Panic sets in. When you’re on an island which only got mains electricity in 1980 (or so I’m told), with no cooker, no fridge and no washing machine, with no gas supply and just an electric slow cooker for all your meals, having the electricity cut out is a serious worry. I check the fusebox. Nothing is wrong. It’s a case of sitting it out and waiting for the juice to start flowing and for our dinner to start cooking again.
